161 kms second last day

Bonjour,

I am writing to you from a lovely cabin near Plevna. Today was pretty long and tough. It all started at Patawawa. I left by myself and headed down the highway. Michael met up with me once I turned onto Hwy 41. I talked to him about the ride and how challenging it has been. We rode down this great country road and it felt like I was back home. I tried to enjoy it but honestly I just wanted my second last day to be over. We raced along over the countryside and met up with the parents for some food. Michael, Dad and I set off again and I headed into town. Okay, I'm going to be honest as usual. I am so so tired as I write this. My mind is really struggling to write a decent blog haha. I am surrounded by family and it's  made me feel the mental aspect of this ride is over. I will never have to push myself to the degree I have for the remainder of this trip. The ride today was long, very humid,  hot and hard. I have accepted the fact that this ride will never be easy until I unclip at Queens tomorrow at 3pm. Dave (my uncle) met up with us with 35km to go and we rode  to his cabin. My extended family was waiting and I ran out of the car like I was running to my long lost lover. I jumped into their arms and was so happy to see them all. The feeling of isolation is gone. Now only exhaustion is left. I went for a swim in the awesome lake. Tomorrow I have committed to going for a canoe paddle early in the morning to think over the trip. As I near the end of this thing I am finding it very hard to recap it all. So much has happened in the last 30 days. I am so used to suffering incredible amounts it will be weird not really struggling in 2 days time. I may run a marathon or something just for fun haha. I don't think I will ever get into this cycling shape in my life so I  might as well use it. I promise I will write a better blog tomorrow but tonight  I think I am going to actually enjoy myself instead of slave through the daily tasks. 115km to Queens, just about there!

You are just about there MAN! Bravo! A great feat and you had a great support team. I rode from Victoria to Kingston a few years back and I was with you for the whole trip. You are an awesome person Adam. Enjoy the rest....

I wish I could be there to see you arrive. I will dip my back tire in Willows Beach instead and raise a glass this evening.

You are an inspiration to me - and there are few people in this world that truly do that.

Spin easy today. Spin proud.

Oh Adam we were so happy to finally get you across that finish line! All us Aunts were screaming like little girls when we saw you coming down the road at last. We are so proud of your accomplishment and your character. Now look forward to some rest and new challenges.
