Summer time once again

Now that it is summer and I am no longer bound to the Chemistry or Calculus that was oh so familiar not so long ago I can focus on what is really important..... Riding across the country from Victoria to Kingston while raising money for Cancer research. Here is the link in which you can donate http://donate.bccancerfoundation.com/site/TR?pg=fund&fr_id=1250&pxfid=9721
Where did this crazy idea stem from you might ask? Last summer I formed a team for a LIVESTRONG challenge down in Seattle to raise money to fight cancer. We rode various distances, mine being 121km in 4 and a half hours. It was extremely rewarding and challenging considering it was pouring rain for 4 of those hours. This was my first taste of charity riding. After last summer I entered grade 12 and was bombarded with a surplus of work and sports while trying to hold down a job. Keeping everything in the balance was too much and I had to stop a few things that I love. When school started to wind down in May I wondered how I could continue making a difference in the effort to beat Cancer. This ride is what I came up with, at first my parents thought I was crazy but over time I convinced them to allow, and join me (via car) as I travel across the country ( I have pretty amazing parents). I have done some wild challenges of physical endurance in my life but this tops them all off. The distance from Victoria to Kingston is 4700.98 km. (38 LIVESTRONG rides) Each Journey begins with the first step and I will chop away at that huge number. This blog is intended for the many friends and family members that will support me on my journey to university. I hope you enjoy, its going to be one long ride.
